The All Progressive Congress(APC) has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of using federal government agencies, Nigeria Army and Police to divide the country and suppress the nation democracy.

The party National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, who stated this while speaking with journalists yesterday at Oro, Irepodun Local government Area of Kwara state, during his annual Ramadan lecture, said it was unconstitutional for a President to use the Nigerian Army Forces, which belong to all Nigerians, to victimise citizens and opposition party.

Mohammed lamented that the President has formed the habit of deploying armed soldiers to deal with political situations.

The APC spokesman, who cited the recent siege laid on the residence of the Acting Chief Judge of Adamawa state by the soldiers, deployment of soldiers for Ekiti state governorship election and the protection being given to minority lawmakers in Rivers and Edo states as examples of President’s impunity, warned that there might not be free and fair elections in 2015 if the thread continues unabated.

“This country has never been divided as we have it today; everything that our forefathers did to bring us together, Jonathan has destroyed”, he stated.

“This is a President that is bent on dividing us. He deployed soldiers for elections as if election is a war and was doing that when the abducted Chibok schoolgirls have not been rescued.

“This President is a symbol of disunity, whereas, he must be seen as a symbol of unity”, the APC chieftain further stated.
