President Goodluck Jonathan has forwarded the name of the Corps-Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osita Chidoka, as a ministerial nominee to fill the slot of Anambra state.

Recall that the former minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, who represented Anambra, left Jonathan’s cabinet controversially, following public pressure over the BMW bullet-proof car purchased for her by Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

In a letter addressed to the Senate President, David Mark, President Jonathan also nominated Suleiman Abubakar, a Political Science lecturer in the University of Abuja, as a minister of the cabinet.

Abubakar will replace the vacuum created by the exit of former minister of sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, who was sacked by President Jonathan for unknown political reasons.

In the letter to the Senate President, President Jonathan also urged the Senate to confirm the Acting Director -General of Pension Commission (PENCOM), Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, as the substantive Director General of Pension Commission.

Similarly, Jonathan also nominated Fobi Ebenezer, to represent the South-South region as a commissioner in the PenCom.

Meanwhile, the Senate is yet to disclose the date to conduct the screening for the nominees, even though this is most likely to take place after the return of the Senate from vacation in September.
