President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday in Abuja held a secret meeting with four governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the South-west geopolitical zone.

The APC governors in attendance were Dr. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, his Lagos state counterpart, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, as well as Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Rauf Aregbesola of Ogun and Osun states respectively.

No statement was issued before and after the meeting on the purpose of the sudden talks even as sources hinge it on political permutations towards the 2015 elections.

At the end of the meeting, the governors simply said they had a fruitful deliberation with the president on “crucial national issues”.

Governor Fashola, who spoke to State House correspondents said the meeting was a private one, saying: “If there is the need for you to know, the Presidential aide will brief you”.
