The Jos Elecricity Distribution PLC was said to have sacked hundred of its staffers.
Adakunle Eliger who is the Head, corporate communications department while confirming the development said, the company rationalised the staff base on certain factors.
According to Eliger, the decision had been a normal procese in the company.
He said, “ some of the staffers were inherited byJED from the previous ownerships and have spent over 60 years in which the management felt that they were not longer produtive.
“Secondly, the management policy explained that staff must either be degree or HND holder to enable them interface with our customers adequately because without education you cannot manage the customers looking at the previous cases of failed customer management relationship.
“We also have staffers who have spent 35years mandatory in service and management felt that it is not fair to continue with them.
“Added to that, we also have staffers that are not living up to expectation on terms of revenue collection, connivance with at the detriment of the company and other performances of duty. so it is not a purnishment because those rationalised will be given there entitlememnt, “ he added.
