Divine Jubilation College of Health Technology has matriculated about 200 newly admitted students for the 2017/2018 Academic session, its founder, Evang Dr Kemmi Divine Glory Ishola has said.
Ishola who made this known at the weekend while speaking during the ceremony in Jubilation Camp Nassarawa State urged the newly matriculated students to seize the opportunity provided by the academic environment to prepare themselves for the task of nation building. Dr Ishola who explained that the establishment of the college was born out of passion as a health officer and by revelation by God Almighty advised the students to be self disciplined and focused as that was needed for a serious academic pursuit.
While congratulating the students for what she described as an important milestone in their lives, she said that their admission was a golden opportunity that would launch them to lofty height, if properly treasured. She also advised parents to support their children.
On his part, the Chairman of the Occasion, Prof. Sam Ale challenged the fresh students of the institution to be committed to the ideals of excellence, discipline, peace, stability and development for which the College stand for.
Ale also cautioned them against cultism, and evil association, warning that involvement in such association and activities would affect their academic carrier and potential greatness negatively. Also speaking, Provost of the school, Dr Babatunde Ogedemgbe stated that matriculation is an important ceremony in the life of every tertiary institution all over the world. He described it as a day set aside to consummate the process of admitting fresh students into higher institution.
While administering the matriculation oath on the students, the Registrar of the College, Obianuju Theresa Ogoanya explained that the matriculation is a solemn and secret exercise representing a contract between the students and the institution. She also informed the students that they would face challenges in the course of their studies but assured them that they would overcome because challenges are part of life
The newly admitted students expressed gratitude to God for given them the opportunity to pursue their aspiration.
