The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Sen. Abdul’Aziz Yari, on Sunday arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with a firm commitment that the party would fulfil its campaign promises to Nigerians ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s second-term campaign.
Yari, who spoke to newsmen shortly after arriving from an overseas trip, was received by a jubilant crowd of party faithful and supporters. He declared that keeping campaign promises remained a hallmark of the APC.
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promises we made during the campaign, we shall keep,” Yari said. “Today, we have seen him [Bola Ahmed Tinubu] as President, and by God’s grace, he shall be the President come 2027.”
The former governor of Zamfara State, while addressing party stakeholders who converged on the airport, expressed gratitude for the reception, adding that their presence represented a shared national vision and spiritual support for the government.
“The crowd is here to pray for me and for the success of Mr President,” he said. “Our party is synonymous with keeping its word. We pray that Almighty Allah will give him [the President] the wisdom to lead this country. We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfil all our campaign promises.”
Looking beyond the immediate electoral cycle, Yari expressed confidence in the party’s long-term standing with the Nigerian public.
“We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term,” he said.
The arrival of the APC PCC Director-General marks the beginning of his official duties following his appointment by President Tinubu on Saturday.
A seasoned political strategist and former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Yari brings decades of legislative and executive experience to the ruling party’s political machinery.
The APC leadership believes his appointment will help consolidate the party’s political structures, particularly in the Northern region, and coordinate national campaign operations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
