The Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has earmarked N220 million for the 47th Kano International Trade Fair scheduled to begin in November 2026.
KACCIMA President, Ambassador Usman Hassan Darma, disclosed this at a press conference at the chamber’s headquarters in Kano on Monday.
Darma said the funds would cover logistics and infrastructure improvements aimed at providing a conducive environment for exhibitors, visitors and other participants.
He said the chamber would inaugurate a Local Organising Committee (LOC) on Saturday, comprising KACCIMA members and representatives of the private sector, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), security agencies and other stakeholders.
According to him, the trade fair is expected to attract exhibitors and businesses from within and outside Nigeria, providing opportunities to showcase products, connect with customers and establish new partnerships.
Darma said activities for the fair would commence on November 23, while the official opening ceremony would take place on November 28. The event is expected to run until December 6.
“We are working to make the 47th edition different by introducing new innovations and creating a platform that will attract businesses and participants from different parts of the country,” he said.
He noted that the fair would go beyond buying and selling by promoting networking, innovation and business development, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises seeking greater market exposure.
Darma added that KACCIMA plans to digitalise the trade fair platform to enable buyers and sellers to maintain business relationships beyond the physical event.
The platform will also feature interactive sessions where participants can exchange ideas, explore investment opportunities and build strategic partnerships.
He assured participants of adequate security, saying the chamber was collaborating with relevant government agencies and security organisations to ensure a safe and successful event.
“Our focus is not primarily on making money from the trade fair, but on providing services, promoting businesses and creating connections that will help drive economic growth in Kano State,” Darma said.
