The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has introduced a competitive element, recognizing local governments based on their performance in the voter registration exercise.
Some local government areas have been provided with an insufficient number of registration machines, with some having only two machines despite serving large populations.
ALGON is calling on INEC to supply more machines—at least ten per local government area for densely populated areas—to ensure that no one is left behind.
