Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, has expressed Kaduna State Government’s gratitude to UNICEF for supporting the state in health, education, and other sectors.
Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa made this known when a delegation of UNICEF Nigeria, led by Jane Bevan came on a courtesy visit to Government House on Thursday, to Deputy Governor’s Council Chambers in Kaduna.
The Deputy Governor who received the WASH team, restated the state’s commitment to attaining ODF status by 2024, one year before the national deadline, saying, “We are not leaving any stone unturned “.
She stressed that the Uba Sani administration will work to strengthen the existing partnership, especially in human capital development, an area in which the current administration places a very high premium.
On her part, the leader of the delegation, Chief of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), UNICEF Nigeria, Jane Bevan applauded the Kaduna State Government for the progress made in improving access to WASH in the state after conducting a field assessment in some communities across the state.
Bevan noted that seven LGAs in Kaduna State have attained the Open-Defecation-Free (ODF) status, expressing optimism that the state will attain state-wide ODF status before the 2025 deadline.
She stressed that the Uba Sani administration will work to strengthen the existing partnership, especially in human capital development, an area in which the current administration places a very high premium.
