A Kaduna-based tourism expert, Dr. Tobi Bernard Thomas, has stated that there is a need for the Kaduna state government to partner with the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) Kaduna State Council for tourism development in the state.
The expert stressed the need to strengthen tourism activities in the state, as well as provide a sense of direction to the key players in the industry.
Dr. Thomas averred this while addressing a press conference in Kaduna at the weekend, with the view to contribute to the conservation of natural resources and the preservation of cultural traditions.
He said that the fascinating natural landscape and ecosystem, rich culture, and history of Kaduna state ordinarily make the state an attractive tourist destination.
The expert, while speaking, equally urged the state government to put in place a mechanism that is capable of addressing key problems that have plagued the industry, such as unfair competition, wanton price hikes, and forced goods purchases.
At the press conference, he stressed the need for collaborative efforts between the key players such as the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) Kaduna State Council Kaduna with the state government, with the view to transforming the industry in the interest of the state.
Dr. Thomas who is the State Coordinator of FTAN further explained that well-designed tourism activities in the state will always provide an opportunity for people to explore different cultures, experience new places, and build relationships with others
Meanwhile, the tourism expert enjoined all key players in the industry to align themselves with the determination of Governor Uba Sani, which is geared towards protecting and preserving the safety of lives and properties of everyone within the state.
