The Kaduna State Government has ordered a comprehensive multi-agency investigation into the incident involving a CNG-powered bus at Mando Motor Park on April 5, 2026. Preliminary findings confirmed that a minor explosion was caused by a technical fault linked to overfilling.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, in a statement said the incident was quickly contained, and no casualties or property damage were reported. “There was no bomb explosion, and no casualties or property loss were recorded. The situation was swiftly contained, and normal activities have since resumed,” Maiyaki said.
He added that Governor Uba Sani, has directed the investigation to determine both the immediate and root causes of the incident.
He said the inquiry will involve relevant security agencies, technical regulators, and safety authorities to ensure accountability and improve operational standards for CNG use across the state.
The Governor also praised the Kaduna Police Command, especially the Bomb Disposal Unit, for their quick and professional response in securing the area and protecting public safety. “The Governor also commends the Kaduna State Police Command, particularly the Bomb Disposal Unit, for their prompt and professional response in securing the area and ensuring public safety,” Maiyaki said.
