Kaduna govt to enroll pensioners into State Health Insurance Scheme

The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Union of Pensioners, Kaduna State Chapter to enroll pensioners into the State’s Health Insurance Scheme.
Speaking during the occasion held at the Ministry of Health yesterday in Kaduna, the Director General of KADCHMA, Abubakar Hassan, noted that the signing of the MoU is a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to extend benefits of health insurance to Pensioners in the State.
According to him, the aim is to enroll more residents into the scheme to make healthcare more affordable and secure a sustainable funding basis for health facilities, adding that the ultimate goal is to build consensus across the State for adopting contributory health insurance as the most affordable way to access healthcare in public faculties.
The D.G. stressed that the benefits of the scheme for pensioners are numerous as it will ensure that pensioners have access to healthcare services from any public or private health facility across the State without having to spend from their pockets.
“This means that our beloved pensioners can receive the care they need without worrying about the financial burden that often comes with accessing healthcare services. Furthermore, the annual premium for this health insurance scheme is less than N10,000, making it incredibly affordable for pensioners.”
