The National Secretary of the Labour Party (LP), Umar Farouk has debunked rumours making the rounds that the party has collapsed its structure to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State.
He described the rumours as untrue, adding that the party would take solid stand to contest and win the coming Saturday election in Kaduna State
At a press conference held on Monday, the LP scribe said its gubernatorial candidate would not step down for any political party in the Saturday governorship election in the state.
According to him, the Labour Party in Kaduna State had received several threats, from opposition PDP, adding that despite threats to the party’s women leader, the opposition parties have renewed their onslaught on the party by spreading falsehood, telling the Obidients that the Labour Party and its governorship candidate, Jonathan Asake have collapsed structure into the PDP, just as it described it as complete falsehood.
He insisted that the LP gubernatorial candidate, Jonathan Asake is the only qualified candidate to be the governor of Kaduna State.
“Asake is going to bring unity, peace, harmony and sincerity of purpose to Kaduna State for the collective interest of the people of the state. We call on all peace-loving people to vote for our candidate, Jonathan Asake. We will ensure that the Labour Party becomes victorious on March 11,” he said.
