The Kaduna State Police Command in response to a trending video circulating on social media, showing officers assaulting a civilian, has commenced investigation on the case while retaining the involved officers in custody.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO,) of the State Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, and made available to the media in Kaduna, yesterday
The statement revealed the officers involved as Inspector Ibrahim Daniel, Inspector Ezekiel Marcus, Corporal Isyaku James, and Constable Paul Asha, all attached to the Surveillance section of Kakuri Area Command. They are currently under investigation.
Reacting to the video of the incident which took place in a known black spot in Kaduna South, the Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Ali Dabigi, has strongly condemned the act and assured the public that such misconduct will not be tolerated under his leadership.
He also ordered a swift and thorough investigation into the matter to ensure that justice is served and also urged the general public to continue supporting the police by reporting similar incidents.
