Kaduna records hitch free Eid-el- Fitr celebration

Contrary to scenario that usually comes to play during festivities in Kaduna state of gangster attacks, the recently celebrated Eid-El Fitr festival was hitch free.
Investigation by our correspondent, showed that areas such as Kawo, Badarawa, Anguwan Rimi, Anguwan Dosa, Anguwan Shanu in Kaduna North Local Governments, Tudun Wada and Barkin Dogo in Kaduna Local Government Area and Rigasa in Igabi Local Government Area were relatively peaceful.
Similarly, Waff road, and Katuru road both black spots for gangsters saw people going about their celebration without hindrance.
The swimming pool at Murtala Square was filled to capacity while Command Guest House saw hundreds of people trooping in for party.
Speaking on the relative peace, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Kaduna State Governor, Samuel Aruwan said the success recorded during the Sallah period was due to proactive measures taken by security agents in the state before the celebration.
According to him, over 50 members of the dreaded ‘Sara-suka’ gang were rounded up by security agents days before the celebration and are currently in custody waiting to be charged to court.
Aruwan added that the Governor Nasir El-Rufai directed that security agents should deal decisively with trouble shooters during and after the celebration. This he said might have pushed the gangsters back to their shelves.
Giving credence to this, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Aliyu Mukhtar said the State
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austine Iwar ensured that 24 hours police patrol was conducted during the festive period, and men from the Mobile Police Unit were deployed to trouble prone areas.
He said the measures will continue even after the festive period in order to ensure that the problems of gangster are addressed permanently.
However, pockets of attacks were recorded in some parts of the metropolis as the ‘Sara-Suka’ boys tried to attack the National Museum to disrupt a party celebration but a combined team of mobile police and army were quickly mobilized to the spot and some of the members were arrested while others took to their heels.
