From Mohammad Ibrahim, Kaduna

Kaduna State will host Nasril Lahil –Fathih Society of Nigeria,( NASFAT) forth-coming ‘Women Biennial International Conference’ scheduled early next year.
According to the organizers, the three day international conference will boost economy of the state and help clear misconception that there is no peace in the north.
Chairman of the branch , Engineer Muyideen Yusuf who led Members of the group to office of Director Kaduna State Bureau for Religious Affairs Engineer Namadi Musa said renowned Islamic Scholars from different parts of the world would open up areas of collaborations with regards to the peace agenda of the Governor Nasirul El –Rufai.
The Chairman explained that the visit became necessary to intimate the state government of its hosting rights and seek the necessary collaboration to make the conference a success.
In his remarks, Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman Alhaji Adekunle Adesanya said everything is in top gear for the hosting of the event.
“It is an event that we cannot host without involving the government .Any event like this is an opportunity for the state to be presented to the world in its right perspective. We are expecting not less than 1000 participants from within and outside the country. it would help change their perception that Kaduna and the north is not secured”.
While commending NASFAT for the initiative, Engineer Namadi Musa said Governor El-Rufai’s administration is very much in support of peace building programs.
He added that his office would do all it can to lend its support to see that Kaduna state is portrayed in its proper light, saying the Bureau takes religious matters seriously as it is an avenue to enhance peaceful coexistence.
“This Bureau for Interfaith if l may say, probably is the first of its kind in the country because the problem in Kaduna had made it possible for our governor to see that there is no need to have a structure that is predominantly Christian or Muslim.
“We have to stay together and stop the division in Kaduna whereby across the river is for Christians and the other side for Muslims. Why can’t we create an opportunity whereby the Christians and the Muslims would stay under the same roof? That was what brought about the creation of Interfaith.”
