The Kagarko Local Government Council has reaffirmed its commitment to workers’ welfare and pledged continued support for the Kaduna State Government’s labour-friendly policies as the Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) commenced its statewide sensitisation tour in the local government area.
The NLC delegation, led by the State Chairman, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman, was received on Tuesday by local government workers, traditional rulers, members of the Local Government Management Team, labour leaders, and other stakeholders.
The Emir of Kagarko, His Royal Highness Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad, led other traditional rulers in welcoming the delegation, in what officials described as a demonstration of the strong partnership among government, organised labour, and the local community.
The statewide sensitisation tour is designed to promote industrial harmony, strengthen collaboration between workers and government, improve service delivery, and sustain cordial labour-government relations across Kaduna State.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council, Muhuyideen Abdullahi Umar, commended the NLC for the initiative, describing it as a timely effort to reinforce workers’ confidence in government policies.
According to him, supporting an administration that prioritises workers’ welfare remains in the best interest of the local government system.
“Job security remains one of the greatest assurances any responsible government can provide. Under the administration of Governor Uba Sani, workers have continued to enjoy industrial peace, constructive engagement with labour unions, and deliberate efforts to strengthen the Local Government Unified Service,” Umar said.
He urged workers to remain committed to supporting policies that promote their welfare and enhance the development of Kaduna State.
The council chairman also expressed support for Governor Uba Sani’s continued leadership, saying sustained collaboration would help consolidate existing achievements, create more opportunities for workers, and accelerate development across the state.
He further reaffirmed the council’s commitment to working closely with organised labour, traditional institutions, and other stakeholders to implement policies aimed at improving workers’ welfare, strengthening local government administration, and promoting sustainable development in Kagarko Local Government Area.
The Kaduna State NLC’s sensitisation tour is expected to cover all 23 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to deepen engagement with grassroots workers, promote industrial peace, and strengthen labour-government relations.
