The Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council in Kaduna State, Hon Rabo Auza Nasara, has been impeached from office by the legislative arm of the council.
The impeachment was consequent upon the resolution of the Kagarko Local Government Legislative Council Meeting, held in the Legislative Chambers, Kagarko Local government secretariat yesterday.
The resolution of the Legislative Chairman was signed by eight Counsellors representing different wards in the Local government area.
“The Legislative Council in its session referred herein above and under the powers vested in it and in compliance with Order I section 15 (1) of the Kaduna State of Nigeria Rules of the 23 Local Government Legislative Councils 2018 and the extant laws, the following resolutions were duly presented and considered through a motion for impeachment as follows:
“That Hon. Nasara Auza Rabo has flagrantly abused the powers vested in him as Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna where he perpetrated financial scam and was suspended by Kaduna State House of Assembly on the 25th July 2023 and he was directed to refund about the sum of N86, 000,000.00 immediately but to date, the embattled chairman has refused to do so.
“That Hon. Nasara Auza Rabo has refused, neglected, and failed to hand government properties including a Prado Jeep, a Peugeot 406 car, and the like against the directive of Ministry for Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State, this act is criminal and has violated section 115 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law No. 5 of 2017 as amended by disobeying an order duly promulgated by a public servant.
“That a copy of this resolution annexed with a notice of impeachment shall be served on Hon. Nasara Auza Rabo for his immediate consumption.
“The Legislative Council also please, considered and agreed for Hon. Mustapha Gidado as Chairman of the Local Government as appointed by relevant authorities and extant laws henceforth.
