A Kano magistrate court, sitting at Noman’s land area, has yesterday remanded a 26-year old man, Abbas Sanusi, for allegedly raping a 3-year old girl. Mr. Sunusi, who resides in Kabara quarters in Municipal Local Government Area of the state, reportedly, had carnal knowledge of the girl when she was sent by her mother to buy sachet water. The report added that the accused lured the minor into his shop located at Kabara quarters and raped her. The report further revealed that the victim is currently receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in the metropolis. According to Fatima Adamu, the presiding Magistrate, the case contravened section 283 of the penal code and ordered that Sanusi, should remain in prison custody until investigation was concluded. The magistrate adjourned the case till September 22, 2014 for further hearing.
