The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) on Monday promised to ensure a 24-hour power supply to its customers in Kano.

KEDCO is serving Jigawa, Kano,  Katsina and parts of Bauchi State.

The Chairman of the company, Alhaji Tajuddeen Dantata, disclosed this in Kano at an induction programme organised for the staff of the company in Tahir Guest palace.

He said the company is determined to improve power supply in the zone to enable moribund industries resume full operation.

‘’We will prove to our customers that we can do it by providing them with steady power supply.

‘’We are in serious business because we are going to give 24-hour power supply to our customers in the nearest future,’’ he said.

He said the company would also do everything possible to implement its ‘vision and mission,’ with a view to achieving the desired objective.

Dantata urged the staff to work towards realisation of the set objective as the company would not condone laxity and indolence.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of the company, Alhaji Jamilu Gwamna, said steady power supply would help industries to flourish.

‘’If the privatisation of telecommunication sector has improved communication, I see no reason why privatisation of the power sector should not improve electricity supply.

‘’We are here to chart a new course for the distribution company,’’ Gwamna said.
