Kano govt moves to modernize waste mgmt system

The Kano state government, under the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change has formalized a strategic working agreement with Certis Nigeria Limited to modernize waste management system in the state.
In a statement by the Commissioner,
Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahiru M. Hashim, the agreement aims to transition waste management infrastructure from a traditional social service into a sustainable and commercially viable growth model.
In the statement in Kano on Tuesday, the Commissioner explained that through the collaboration, Certis would provide the technical expertise needed to modernize the state’s waste systems.
According to Mr Hashim, the firm would also secure vital climate finance, improve the operational management of the state’s Effluent Treatment Plants, and help develop a comprehensive Drainage Master plan for Kano.
“Today, the Kano State Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change formalized a strategic working agreement with Certis Nigeria Limited.
“This framework aims to transition our waste management infrastructure from a traditional social service into a sustainable, commercially viable growth model.
“Through this collaboration, Certis will provide the technical expertise needed to modernize our waste systems, secure vital climate finance, improve the operational management of our Effluent Treatment Plants, and help develop a comprehensive Drainage Masterplan for Kano State,” the statement said.
Mr Hashim stated that the administration of governor Abba Yusuf ka committed to exploring innovative partnerships that guarantee a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for all the citizens in the state.
“Under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, we remain fully committed to exploring innovative partnerships that guarantee a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for all our citizens,” he added.
