Kano Pillars defender, Isaac Loute has said that Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Kano Pillars FC will use the Super six Pre-Season tournament in Abuja organized by the League Management Company (LMC) as another opportunity to prepare for the task ahead on the continent.
Kano Pillars will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League and will get started with South Sudan club, Malaika who are back-to-back champions of the South Sudan National Cup in the weekend of February 13-15.
Loute stated that though Masu Gida as Kano Pillars are fondly called have been preparing in Kaduna but the Super six Pre-Season tournament will give an ample opportunity to test the team for the task ahead.
“We are currently in Kaduna preparing for both the CAF Champions League and the league but we shall hit Abuja on Thursday for the Super Four,”Isaac Loute said.
“We have been working hard, much more than the other clubs that will take part in the tournament and apart from using the Super Four to extend our preparation, we intend to be the champions of the Super Four this time around,”
The Super six will start on January 24 with all four clubs representing Nigeria on the continent (Kano Pillars, Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Dolphins) and an extended invitation has been given to both the national U/20 and the national U/23 teams, Flying Eagles and Dream Team.
