Kano Police rescue another child kidnap victim

In continuation of its crackdown on kidnapping and other crimes in the state, the Kano State Police Command’s anti-kidnapping team of Operation Puff Adder has rescued another child kidnap victim.
The rescue which brings to eleven the total number of kidnapped children rescued so far, occurred in a fresh operation carried out by the Kano Police yesterday.
This was contained in a statement, made available to newsmen, by the Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, saying that the Command’s anti-kidnapping team of Operation Adder carried out the rescue operation, during which, one Muhammed Ya’u, 11, who was kidnapped in 2014 at PRP Quarters, Kano was rescued.
aHaruna said the operation was successfully carried out at Onitsha, Anambra State by the team.
According to him, the victim was kidnapped by one Paul Onwe and Mercy Paul and sold to one, Ebere Ogbodo at the sum of N200,000 and renamed Chinedu Ogbodo. Haruna said that all suspects are currently under investigation.
He added that, efforts are in progress to rescue more kidnapped children.
