Karu Chairman imposes 12-hur curfew to mitigate violent protests

The Executive Chairman of Karu Local Government Council, Hon. James B. Thomas, has declared a 12-hour curfew to ensure the full security of Karu LGA and its residents.
In a statement on Friday, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the chairman, Comr. Danbaba Uba Magaji, said the decision was made after careful consideration of the ongoing protests.
The statement read in parts: The curfew across Karu LGA is effective immediately, and will be enforced from 6 pm to 6 am daily until further notice.
“This action serves as a precautionary measure to ensure the full security of Karu LGA and its residents. The curfew will restrict the movement of people, Okada and Keke riders, all shop owners, and motorists in Karu LGA.”
