The management of Federal Medical Center, Katsina has sacked three of its staff over extortion of unsuspecting patients.
The sack of the three staff was contained in an Internal Memo signed and pasted on the center’s notice board by the head of administration , Abdulmumini Samaila.
The management warned “ in the light of this, staff who engaged in this act are hereby warned to hereby desist from such as anyone caught will be summarily dismissed”
Meanwhile, the medical director of the center, Dr. Suleiman Bello Muhammad revealed that to eliminate extortion, the center has introduced electronic medical record system.
He further revealed that with the system the payment for services and records of patients are been centrally controlled eliminating extortion of prospective patients.
The director noted that they have introduced computerized hand cards system designed toothpaste patients interaction with the hospital, advising patients to guard their hand cards.
According to him the system was locally developed by a staff of the center, adding that no payment made without receipts would be entertained.
