Katsina small business operators get N3m NDE support

National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has offered a financial support of N3 million to 300 small businesd operators from across the three senatorial zones of Katsina state.

The Director Genaral of the directorate, Malam Abubakar Muhammad who supervised the distribution of the funds to the selected beneficiaries, said 100 operators were selected from each of the three senatorial zones.

He said that each of the beneficiary would collect a financial assistance of N10, 000 which he stressed that was not a loan but a trust given to them to enable them add to their capital.

Muhammad who was represented at the ceremony by a director of the agency, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Kogo said the beneficiaries should make proper use of the money to improve their business.

“This small capital you are seeing if Allah bless it you can become a millionaire. All these big businesses you are seeing this is how they started. What is important for you to benefit is discipline, commitment and trust,” he added.

Earlier, the NDE Director, Katsina office, Engineer Yakubu Umar Mani stressed that the beneficiaries were carefully chosen to make sure the right persons benefit from the gesture.

In a remark, Vice Chairman Katsina Local Government, Alhaji Lawal Ulu thanked the NDE for the initiative which he said would go a long way in alleviating poverty and promote small business initiative in the state.
