Katsina trains 100 VVF patients on skill acquisition

Katsina state government has begin the training of 100 treated Vesocovaginal Fistula patients on various skills to make them self reliant after completing their rounds of treatment.
The state Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hajiya Badiyya Hassan Mashi stated this yesterday while declaring open a three month training for the selected patients at the Obstetric Fistula Centre in Katsina.
The commissioner disclosed that, the beneficiaries would be train on skills that include tailoring, pomade making, knitting, poultry and farming techniques among others.
She noted that, the decision to train them on skills acquisition was according to her to make them self reliant and enable them cater for their daily needs.
Mashi averred that the state government would accommodate and feed the beneficiaries throughout the period of their three month training.
After the training, the commission disclosed that the participants would be supported with working tools and would all be transported back to the various places of residence.
Earlier, the Deputy Director of the Obstetric Fistula Centre, Babbar Ruga, Katsina, Dr. Sa’adiyya Nasir stated that so far the centre has on admission 100 VVF patients, adding that last week they operated 30 patients at the centre.
