The Korea Cultural Center in Nigeria (KCCN) has organised a mask singing competition, with the significance of creating opportunities for Nigerians who are gifted in signing to showcase their talents and receive awards.
The Korean Cultural Centre said it aims to continually hold events that bring Nigerians together to interact and experience different aspects of Korean culture.
The masked singing competition, which was organised by Korean Cultural Centre in Nigeria (KCCN) at its center in Abuja, marked the celebration of Korean culture day in August.
KCC Nigeria held the masked singing contest finale on 25th Aug 2021.
The online preliminary round had earlier taken place from August 3 ~ 17 2021, where 10 participants were selected for the finals which took place at the Korean Cultural Centre.
Contestants chose and sang different Korean songs of their choice wearing masks. It was an intense battle between contestants who showed their singing skills in their bid to win the prize.
The event featured an amazing Korean musical instrument performance (Gayageum) by a Korean staff, Ms Ahyoung Kim closely followed by a speech from the Director of KCCN.
After 10 delighting performances from the contestants, 3 winners emerged (1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners); walking away with N50000, N30000 and N20000 respectively.
Dada Oluwaseun Omotola was the first prize winner, Ahialaka Amanda Uzoamaka was the second prize winner while Obaitan Stephanie was the 3rd prize winner. Other contestants received N5000 worth of Jumia shopping voucher as consolation prize.
