Kebbi Center trains 5000 Almajirai, orphans, crippled on skills acquisition

The Kebbi State Training Centre of Almajiris Support Initiative has trained five thousand almajiris, orphans, crippled and other physically challenged persons with various skills acquzation programmes.

The training which took place in Birnin Kebbi involving skills comprising of knitting, carpentry, welding, barbing salon, driving and the making of other food confectionaries aimed at improving their living condition to become self dependent.

Briefing newsmen on Monday, the Proprietor and Founder of the Centre, Comrade Shehu Umar Birnin Kebbi said the training was organized for students at the center during a practical Sallah/prayer lesson adding that the Centre decided to do the lesson for the students in order to learn how to perform one of the major pillars of islam ie, Sallah/prayer.

‘’ When we realized that the students were lacking islamic knoledge , a re-known islamic scholar, Malam Shehu Muhammed BK Dan-Abashe was engaged to teac the students in the centre the basic islamic obligations’’

According to him, the Centre which situated along G-Slow- road in Birnin Kebbi metropolis enrolled different type of less -prevealldge students such as cripples, almajiris, the  blind, dump and other persons with disabilities.

He implored well-to-do persons and other philanthropists in the state to come to the aid of the Centre with Food stuffs and Clothing materials noting that only the management is feeding and clothing the students on daily basis.

Comrade Shehu however expressed his gratitude to the Kebbi state government, wife of the state Governor, Hajiya Aisah Atiku Bagudu, Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mohammed Mera and trade unions for their immense contributions to the centre.

He noted that each year, the Centre is graduating fifty to one hundred students , issued them with cerificates and training equipments
