Kebbi: Ex-Gov Dakingari, deputy others defect to APC

Kebbi State former governor, Usman Saidu Dakingari and his former deputy, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu and their supporters have decamped to All Progressives Congress, APC.
Jointly speaking yesterday at the Sir. Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, the state Governor Atiku Bagudu and Minister of Justice Abubakar Mallam said the defections of the former governor to APC was the result of reconciliation move between all stakeholders in the state to consolidate the unity and progress recorded in the state; adding that almost all PDP members in the state have defected to the APC.
Atiku said further that the defection was as a result of the achievement recorded by the APC-led government in the state in particular and Nigeria in general.
In his remarks, the Minister of Justice Abubakar Mallami said after the consolidation with the President Mohammed Buahri they now discovered that there is need to welcome them from the PDP to APC.
In his response, the former Governor Saidu Usman Dakingari said their decision is based on the progress made in the state, while they have lost Confidence in the PDP.
Speaking on behalf of the former governor, the former deputy governor Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu said they want peace and development in the state. “We have lost confidence in the PDP. We are back home now,” he added.
