Ahead of 2015 election, a group under the aegis of Concerned Kebbi Citizens and PDP elite has advocated for the candidature of General Bello Sarkin Yaki as the successor Saidu Dakingari come 2015.
The group leader, Haliru Abubakar, in a Press conference with journalists in Birnin Kebbi yesterday, said that as the 2015 election approaches they have joined the teeming politicians and the good people of Kebbi state to ask for Yaki to contest the governorship of kebbi state under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He explained that considering the great potentials of the General and his role in the security matters of Nigeria, he deserved to be the next pilot of Kebbi State.
“Actually, General Bello Sarkin Yaki did not publicly declare intention, but the appeals and calls he has been receiving to seek for Governorship ticket is over- whelming. He has the potentials to develop Kebbi State and foster unity amongst the four emirates in the state”, he said.
The group’s spokeperson also kicked against those in support of emirate zoning system, describing it as undemocratic and capable of sabotaging democracy, even as they pointed out that people should be allowed to exercise their freedom of choice.
