The Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Media Strategy and Communication, Abdullahi Zuru, has declared that Governor Nasir Idris deserves a second term in office, saying the state has never had it this good since its creation.
Zuru stated this on while responding to questions from journalists who paid him a courtesy visit.
He said his assessment was based on the governor’s performance across key sectors since he assumed office in 2023.
“Since the creation of Kebbi State, we have never had it this good,” Zuru said.
“The governor has touched every sector and the impact is visible to the people.”
According to the governor’s media aide, the administration has prioritised economic development, infrastructure, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare and human capital development.
He said the various interventions were targeted at improving the living conditions of ordinary residents across the state.
Zuru said the government had embarked on road construction, urban renewal and rural development projects across the state’s 21 local government areas.
He added that the projects were aimed at opening up communities, improving connectivity and boosting commercial activities.
“In education and health, we have seen massive investments in schools, primary healthcare centres, and the welfare of teachers and health workers,” he said.
“Workers’ salaries are paid as and when due, and their welfare is receiving serious attention.”
The Special Adviser further said the governor’s approach to governance had restored public confidence in government.
According to him, the administration’s open-door policy has enabled citizens to feel the presence of government at different levels.
Zuru therefore called on the people of Kebbi State to support Idris for another term in office.
“I encourage the good people of Kebbi State to support Governor Nasir Idris and ensure he returns for a second term so that the good work can continue,” he said.
He, however, took a swipe at some politicians in the state who, he said, lacked the record to challenge the governor’s performance.
“Some of them have held positions at state and federal levels before, yet they have no track record to show for it,” Zuru stated.
“Leadership is about results, and the results are there for everyone to see.”
Zuru said Kebbi was currently on the path of sustainable development, stressing that continuity under Idris remained the best option for the state.
He maintained that the governor’s record across sectors had provided sufficient grounds for his re-election in 2027.
