The Chief Coach of the Super Eagles Stephen Keshi has recalled Enugu Rangers striker Ejike Uzoenyi to the Super Eagles camp on Saturday afternoon for the 2014 World Cup after injury ruled out Elderson Echiejile.
Eagles’ official confirmed that Echiejile’s muscle tear suffered in Nigeria’s international friendly against Greece will side-line him for at least two weeks injury and the technical crew are not willing to risk him with the kick-off of the tournament few days away.
Uzoenyi, who wept in the team bus on the way back to the hotel in Philadelphia after being informed that he did not make the initial 23-man team will now have a chance to prove his worth.
