Kidnapped Assistant Commissioner rescued in Kaduna

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Emmanuel Agene kidnapped along Funtua -Birnin Gwari Road has been rescued by the police Operatives.
Kaduna State Commissioner of Police Mr Agyole Abeh disclosed this during a press briefing held in Kaduna yesterday.
Mr Abeh said following the news of the kidnapped ACP by the bandits, a manhunt was launched to rescue him.
According to him, the team comprises of the Inspector General of Police IGP, Special Response Team and Kaduna State Police Command Rescue Squad put in motion all systems to track down the kidnappers.
He added that the bandit called the family members of the victim, who later passed the phone to police operatives, where the kidnapped Officer was permitted to speak with them.
The kidnapped police hinted to his colleagues the location he was being held.
“With this development, we mounted air surveillance on that vicinity which is a thick forests area. The Helicopter was flying at a very low level, when the kidnappers cannot withstand the surveillance; they abandoned their victims and fled.
“As I am speaking, the police officer and the other three rescued victims are receiving treatment at a police facility to check their health status.
“The surveillance is still going on and ground troops have already moved into the vicinities.
“ we are getting closer to the kidnappers , and before the end of the day, I assured you that arrest will be made”, he said.
It will be recalled that ACP Emmanuel who was the Head of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Zamfara State was permit to travel to Niger State when he was accosted by the Bandits.
