A driver ( name withheld )  of  a popular South East based commercial transport company who was kidnapped two weeks ago  has regained his freedom.

The Urhobo born driver who works in one of the branches of the transport company at Airport Junction, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State narrated that he was kidnapped at the boundary between Ondo and Kogi states on his way to Abuja.

He said that his captors kidnapped him, leaving his commercial bus and that the bus was later taken to the police station in the said area while he was under the captivity of the kidnapers.

He said that his legs and hands were tied and that he was not fed by his captors during the period.

He however said that he was given a sachet of pure water occasionally to drink and that he fed on fresh leaves .

The driver disclosed that  a ransom of two hundred thousand naira was paid to the kidnappers before he regained his freedom.

He disclosed further that the money was sourced by his family and the  management of the said commercial transport company.

He also displayed injuries sustained on his hands and legs due to  the tightness of the robes  that were used in tying him .
