Kaduna state government has alerted people within and outside the metropolis of activities of kidnappers who invaded the state using commercial vehicles to lure their victims. The state commissioner for Information, Hon. Ben Bako, stated this in a press statement yesterday made available to our correspondent.

According to the statement, the attention of the general public is hereby drawn to the activities of some criminal elements who are on the prowl using commercial transport to kidnap or steal from unsuspecting passengers.

“People are therefore advised to use designated motor parks and avoid indiscriminate use of unregistered commercial vehicles for their own safety.

“We also advice our good people to note and report suspicious items or movements to the security agents, ” the statement stressed.

It will be recalled that the Kaduna state Police command yesterday issued similar alert over the activities of criminals using unregistered commercial vehicles for commercial purposes with the aim of kidnapping unsuspecting passengers.

It was also gathered that ten passengers are presently missing after bordering such unregistered vehicles along the popular Ahmadu Bello Way and Nnamdi Azikiwe Way (Western bye-pass), but never got to their destination and nobody can ascertain their where about. However, some of the victims were said to have received calls demanding some amount of money if they want their relation to be released.
