Kpakor tips Eagles over Bafana

Date:

Former Nigeria international Moses Kpakor say he has no doubts the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea. The 2-0 victory recorded over Congo in Pointe Noire has helped the Super Eagles quest for a spot at the biennial event.

Sitting on seven points from five matches, the Eagles will need to bag three points against South Africa on Wednesday at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium to book a spot.

Kpakor, who was in the 1990 silver winning team at the Africa Nations Cup in Algeria, feels the team knows what is at stake and will get the job done.

“The game against Congo was tough. They (Congolese) dominated the first half. But our boys came back strongly in the second half,” Kpakor said. “The boys did well, the display wasn’t exactly the best but what matters is the three points at stake, and that’s what we got.

“Nigeria in Uyo might be too much for South Africa and I’m sure they won’t be as tough as they were because they’ve already qualified. That doesn’t mean we should relax, we should approach the game as a cup final.”He added.

“I see Nigeria winning the game and qualifying for the competition. I’m sure it will happen,” Kpakor concluded.
