Kpakor unimpressed with Eagles

Date:

Former Nigeria skipper Moses Kpakor says the game against Congo which the Super Eagles lost 3-2 in Calabar is a wake-up call for everyone involved in the game in Nigeria as the current crisis bedeviling the Nigeria Football Federation might spiral into more disappointment.

Kpakor, who was part of the silver-winning team of Algeria 1990, said that the Super Eagles were a shadow of themselves and let millions of fans down with a poor display in their opening Group A match of the qualifying series for Morocco 2015. “I think it was just one of such days when a team is said to have a bad day.

They failed to click. It was an unexclusively bad day for thea Eagles, “the former BCC Lions of Gboko playmaker stated.”There are a couple of things that need to be done to get the team back on track to their best as soon as possible. Firstly, the coach (Keshi) should be given a new contract urgently and secondly the coach should not experiment again. For me, I believe Keshi did experiment against the Congolese.

Kpakor also suggested that for the Super Eagles and Nigerian football to move forward, the crisis at the Glass House needs to be sorted out immediately to avoid unnecessary distractions.”The tussles at the NFF is another issue that needs to be sorted out urgently. But that I cannot say it significantly influenced our home loss, yes, it did to some extent, but that’s no excuse.”
