Kuta’s death, not victory for his adversaries in PDP, says APC

Date:

From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna.

The death of the Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta, representing Niger East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, should not be seen as victory for his political adversaries in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had wanted to stop him from contesting for re-election in 2015.

This was contained in the Niger state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) condolence message issued by the state Publicity Secretary, Jonathan Vatsa, yesterday to the family of the deceased.

The party stated “The death of the Senator came to us as a shock and we are pained by his death that came at the time the state needed the wise counselling and participation of an experienced and service driven politicaiis like him”.

“We remember with pains his last period of political adversity within his party aimed at stopping him from contesting in 2015 and how he had always remained firm in such circumstances and refused to be intimidated by self serving politicians who look at fair contest as a taboo but expected to be handed over political position through intimidation”, he said.

APC said the death of the Senator, reputed for his progressive ideology, came at the time appointed by Allah which should teach mortals the lesson that nothing is permanent to all those in position of authority.

The party noted that late Kuta was committed to the enlistment of youth of his senatorial district and the entire Niger state to be engaged and empowered to reduce the dependency of the youths and their vulnerability to crime.
