The Etsu (chief) of old Chukuku community in Kwali Area Council of the federal Capital Territory (FCT) ,Chief Haruna Magba, has called on the chairman of the area council, Hon. Ibrahim Daniel to provide boreholes in the community.

Magba, who made this call in an interview with People’s Daily in the community, complained that since they settled in the community for so many years ago, they have been battling with the problem of basic amenities in the community.

He pointed out that the people of the community had been neglected in terms of the developmental projects, and urged the chairman to do something about it.

He expressed dismay that during the dry season the residents share the only source of water in the community with domestic animals.

He said that the present administration of the area council under the leadership of Honorable Ibrahim Daniel had done nothing to provide the potable drinking water for the people.

He explained that the immediate past chairman of the council, Hon. Joseph Kwali Shazin, had drilled boreholes during his administration, but the boreholes were no longer functioning.

He accused the present chairman of the council of failing to repair the boreholes being constructed by the past chairman since he took over the leadership of the council.

The monarch therefore, pleaded with the chairman to deem it necessary to build many boreholes in the community to alleviate the sufferings of the people, while urging him to repair the dilapidated roads in the community.
