The Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Nuhu Daniel, has concluded plans to award academic scholarships to indigent students residing across the council.
The development was contained in an official statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr. Rilwan Makka, and released to newsmen in Abuja.
According to the statement, the council has constituted an independent screening committee tasked with evaluating candidates and selecting qualified beneficiaries to ensure a transparent exercise.
Speaking on the rationale behind the initiative, Hon. Daniel explained that the scholarship scheme was designed to alleviate financial burdens on vulnerable families and ensure bright, underprivileged youths gain access to tertiary education within Kwali and its surrounding areas.
He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing educational advancement and manpower development as key pillars of local governance.
The Council Chairman further appealed to parents and guardians across Kwali to take an active role in the academic development of their children, describing education as a fundamental investment for the future of the area council.
