Recent developments across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) highlight a dual push for grassroots advancement, with the Kwali Area Council embracing digital and infrastructural partnerships while community leaders in Gwagwalada urgently appeal for basic public amenities.

In an effort to elevate public service delivery and infrastructure, Kwali Area Council Executive Chairman, Hon. Nuhu Daniel visited Prof. Ibrahim Adepolu Adeyanju, the Managing Director and CEO of Galaxy Backbone Limited.

During the visit, Daniel emphasized his administration’s dedication to initiating programs that bolster grassroots governance and foster sustainable growth through strategic organizational collaborations.

Responding to the initiative, Prof. Adeyanju outlined Galaxy Backbone’s core mandate—which encompasses data sovereignty, data storage, processing infrastructure, and connectivity provision—and pledged technical guidance and support for the council.

To operationalize this partnership, a six-member technical committee comprising three representatives from each entity was established to identify feasible areas of engagement and formulate an implementation framework.

Meanwhile, in the Gwagwalada Area Council, traditional leadership is calling for immediate infrastructural intervention.

The District Head of Kutunku, Mr. Steve Bawa, has urged Area Council Chairman Hon. Kasim Mohammed to prioritize the provision of basic necessities for residents.

Speaking to journalists, Bawa specifically requested a partnership with the Gwagwalada Water Board to enhance potable water supply alongside the drilling of community boreholes in Kutunku to combat water scarcity.

Highlighting further needs, Bawa appealed for critical road repairs—including the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Kaida road—and the construction of additional healthcare centers to improve medical access for residents.

While assuring the council administration of his continued support for community development, Bawa also advised the Chairman to actively involve traditional rulers in governance affairs.
