An Engineer and development strategist, Chief Sola Ajimati, says time has come for the youth to be actively involved in the different levels of governance in the country.
Ajimati who is an aspirant in the Kwara South Senatorial seat stated this at a dinner he hosted to formally present his movement; “It’s Youth O’Clock”, which he said would be youth-driven and anchored on security, economic development, transparent and inclusive leadership.
The youthful aspirant, who is running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) added that it’s time for young professionals with the zeal to serve to rise up and actively participate in governance and policy making, instead of resorting to complaints and self pity.
He regretted that Kwara South, despite having abundant human and economic potentials has continued to suffer from inadequate representation capable of taking advantage for measurable development.
He said; “Kwara South is not short of talent. We are not short of strength. What we have lacked is representation that converts potential into real results”.
Ajimati further explained that the “It’s Youth O’Clock” initiative was not merely a slogan but a movement created to build systems that would create jobs, strengthen security and make proper use of opportunities to develop communities.
He promised to pursue practical and achievable goals if elected; just as he identified community-based security initiatives, youth empowerment, infrastructure development and improved education and skills acquisition as his areas of special focus.
“As your representative, our priorities are clear. We will advance security by pushing for stronger community protection and ensuring that our people can live and work without fear.
“We will empower our youth, not with handouts, but with access to opportunities, enterprise and real economic pathways. We will attract federal projects and infrastructure to ensure Kwara South takes its rightful place in national development,” he said.
Ajimati, who hails from Edidi in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara state, said his ambition was driven by responsibility and not personal gain, adding that every step of his stewardship would be open to public scrutiny.
“My ambition is not about position. It is about responsibility — responsibility to speak with courage, act with clarity and deliver measurable impact,” he declared.
The engineer and entrepreneur highlighted his track record in youth empowerment, infrastructure, ICT development and community projects through his company, Crownstar Projects Limited, and the Youth Arise For Leadership Initiative (YARLI).
He listed some of his previous interventions to include solar street lighting projects, roads and bridges construction, boreholes, scholarships, vocational training and job creation initiatives across communities in Kwara South Senatorial District.
