The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Tony Ojukwu has reiterated that lack of women’s empowerment in the country increases Gender Base Violence (GBV)
Disclosing this in Abuja during the joint EU- UN spotlight initiative in food fair, exhibition by beneficiaries of programs for livelihood pathway to empower women and girls in the country, the NHRC boss said the program is a proactive intervention to empower women and girls to eliminate poverty and violence against them in Nigeria.
He noted that providing a platform like this for them to strive will eliminate violence against women and girls.
