The visioneer and founder of Let Your Light Shine Radio Programme, airing weekly on 104.5 Love Fm Crowther Radio, Abuja, Lady Angela Ohuabunwa has empowered some downtrodden widows in the nation’s capital territory.
Lady Ohuabunwa put smiles on a total number of 20 beneficiaries with monetary empowerment, food and word of God.
Speaking during latest edition of her outreach initiative at the weekend, she urged widows to stand firm on God and trust in the Lord with all their hearts to always be there for them in life.
She said: “To put smiles in the lives of people especially widows is something that I’m passionate about. And the reason is that the widows in the society are neglected, they are trodden and they don’t have a voice, they are rejected and abandoned, but I want to tell you that God loves you, and He will never leave or for sake you.
“So you are so special that you cannot be abandoned, and anyone that touches you, touches the apple of God’s eye. So stand firm.”
“I will like to admonish everyone out there not to get tired in doing good works, even though some are feeling so disappointed because of certain people they helped in life, that paid them evil for the good done to them.
“But, remember that you are not working for man (humans), so don’t be weary in doing good. when you are doing good, don’t look at reward, because your reward comes from God, so keep on doing good, and keep the word of God pupping, as He said in James 1vs27 a true religion is reach out to the widows and orphans, so let us try by starting from whenever we are in life.
“Life is so short that today you are here, and tomorrow you are no longer there, then what will you be remembered for ? So your good work pays. So let your light so shine in the area of reaching out, so that people will see the good works of God and glorify him.”
Also speaking, the General Manager of 104.5 Love Fm Crowther Radio, Mrs. Lilian Anele, who reiterated Lady Ohabunwa’s passionate for women and children, said the outreach programme in partnership with the radio station, had started last year with 15 beneficiaries, but increased to 20 widows this year.
Mrs Anele noted the initiative is something that is laudable, which is a virtue that most women should emulate.
“We have been taking care of women and children in the society.
Last year, she said let us extend the outreach initiative to accommodate more people as beneficiaries.
“She specifically said that let us call widows together, as she feels that they are hurten, and they feel left out in the society, so lets reach out to them.
“We are in a world where there is so much darkness, so we should let our light radiate by giving out to those in need.
“Lets not take the negativity around us inside us. So this is what Let Your Light Shine stands for. We share in that initiative, that is why the radio station is partnering with her, to help push the vision forward”, the Love Fm GM stated.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Helen Otobo, a widow and mother of five children, said it is only God that knows how she has been managing to take care of her children.
According to her, “Last year, this very woman called us together and blessed us with gifts just like this year.
“Yesterday, I was thinking of what to give to my children to eat, and even this morning when I left home, I couldn’t give them anything.
“And when this message came, I was crying and praying for this woman because God always uses her to bless the widows. She has been helping to wipe away our tears every year.”
