NIMC-Card-front-and-backThe Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Tuesday, said that it was set to distribute 4.8 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), in Lagos state.

The third phase of the distribution of the PVCs will take place in Lagos and some other states from November 7 to November 9.

Addressing journalists in Lagos, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Adekunle Ogunmola, said that Continuous Voters Registration would also hold from November 12 to November 17 in the state.

He urged Lagos residents to ensure that they collect their PVCs.

Mr. Ogunmola said that collection of the PVCs is germane to the success of the 2015 general elections.

“We wish to call on voters in Lagos State to ensure that they obtain their cards and for those that have lost their temporary cards, arrangements have been to accommodate them.

“Those who lost their cards can fill an attestation form with their passport on it to enable them collect the cards.

“The production of this card will go a long way in reducing ways of perpetuating irregularity in elections in Nigeria,” he said.

Mr. Ogunmola, however, said that those who could not collect the PVCs at the point of distribution could go to the INEC offices in the local government areas where they reside to pick them.
