Lagos: Police arrest suspected armed robbers, recover pistol

Nemesis caught up with some suspected armed robbers when the vehicle they were alleged to be transporting arms cache was subjected to search by the Federal Highway Patrol men of the Nigeria Police, at Imota Area of Ikorodu in Lagos state.

According to Lagos Police Command’s Public Relation Officer, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), one of the suspect, Abiodun Yusuf of No 17 Araromi Street Ikorodu was intercepted by the Police men while driving a Mazda 323 saloon car with Reg. No FKJ 952 CM, in company of other five persons.

It was gathered that when a search was conducted on them, a locally-made pistol with one live cartridge and an empty shell of expended bullet, was found on one of the five occupants, whose name she simply gave as Abiodun Oshibanjo, who resides on No 28, Jagugba Street. Iperu -Remo in Ogun state.

Speaking further, she said the suspects, when questioned, claimed that they were taking the items to one Musa, residing at Ikorodu and that the said Musa was yet to be arrested, saying the case is currently under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.
