The Jigawa state Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido has inaugurated an eleven member committee on landscaping and beatification of Dutse the state capital.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Lawan Abdu that performed the ceremony in his office said the formation of the committee was necessitated in view of the numerous development projects executed within the state capital.

He said among the terms of reference of the committee includes to design and execute landscaping and beautification, erection of city gates, construction of additional motor park and enhancing the scenery of government`s house garden.

Alhaji Lawan Abdu added that the committee was also mandated to construct lay-bays at appropriate locations along major roads, identify all parks and gardens as well as designated incidental open space especially in housing estate within Dutse to protect them from trespassers.

The SSG charged members of the committee to inculcate the maintenance culture in the mind of the general public through intensive media campaign.

Responding, the chairman of the committee, Alhaji Bashir Aminu Suleiman, who is also the chairman Dutse Capital Development Authority (DCDA), thanked the state government for the mandate given to them and pledged to live up to expectation.

Members of the committee were drawn from various Ministries, Agencies and Professional bodies.
