Late former President Buhari laid to rest amidst positive comments

Late former President Muhammadu Buhari has been raid to rest at his private residence in his home local government area of Daura, Katsina State with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in attendance.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was assisted by Governor Dikko Radda and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu to receive body of the deceased former President which was jointly conveyed by Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila from the Umaru Musa Yaradua International Airport, Katsina.

The body which arrived the state capital, Katsina aboard Nigerian Air force flight -FGT 001 which touched ground at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, around 2p.m. was also treated to brief military parade in honour of the fallen leader before it was move to Daura by road which is about 80 kilometres from Katsina.

Buhari’s burial ceremony was attended by President Bola Tinubu, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau and Niger Republic’s Prime Minister, Ali Lamine Zeine among thousands of people.

The funeral prayer was led by Imam Hassan Yusuf ar a litt after 4 p.m., at the Daura helipad.

The prayer was also attended by many dignitaries, notable among them were the former Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Others were members of the National Assembly, Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk-Umar, those of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, Zazzau, Dutse and Kazaure among other Emirs and traditional rulers.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Niger Republic, Ali Lamine as well as Ministers, governors from eleven states and many federal and state lawmakers were among sympathizers that  converged at the Umaru Musa Yaradua International Airport, Katsina who later escorted the body to Daura.

Many Nigerians have shared positive comments on Buhari at the burial sites some amidst tears over their love to the late Nigerian leader who passed on Saturday at a London hospital in United Kingdom.
