Former President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Osahon Enabulele, has blamed leadership failure for the pervasive level of insecurity in the nation.
He made the remark during the Annual Award ceremony of the Foundation For Good Governance and Social Change held in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.
Dr. Enabulele said the development was breeding intolerance across the three tiers of Governments in Nigeria.
He also appealed to government to create adequate social safety net to reverse the economic morass which Nigeria has found herself as enshrined in Section (2) sub section (2b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to him, there is general high level of insecurity in the country. “It is a reflection of a decayed structure of our leadership system”.
The former NMA president argued that political will, transparency, commitment, and sincerity can help to win public trust.
He described the kidnapping of health workers in Nigeria as part of the systematic malaise in the country.
